AT A GLANCE

Soltreks is a wilderness program whose mission is to guide individuals and families toward reclaiming their personal power while discovering their true potential.

  • For individuals seeking awareness of what limits them in their life, their relationships, and their relationship to life
  • An opportunity to examine choices, feel emotions and understand their relational impact on their community as a whole
  • Dedicated to parent involvement that contributes to program effectiveness

Soltreks is for individuals and families who desire lasting changes. We support young adults, parents, families, and older adults who struggle with:

  • Anxiety
  • Drug and Alcohol use
  • Self esteem and interpersonal skills
  • Low Motivation and direction
  • Loss and depression
  • Family and intimate relationships
  • Making transitions

Soltreks offers customized and individualized small group, one-on-one and family treks. We guide indiviuals through a process that results in coming away with a greater sense of who they are and who they want to become.

  • Develop awareness and personal accountability
  • Challenge unhealthy patterns
  • Teach and model healthy solution-focused strategies
  • Assess needs and make recommendations for continued support and successful transitions

Instructors have diverse educational and experiential backgrounds and are certified in Wilderness First Responder or EMT, and CPR and have extended experience as outdoor leaders. We provide structure, accountability and consistency using strategies that:

  • Focus on quality versus quantity
  • Examine, experiment, empower
  • Help others help themselves
  • Develop nurturing relationships
  • Focus on internalizing change
  • Build up versus break down

Soltreks has a 97% completion rate.

Soltreks operates under a special use permit with the USDA Forest Service in the Gila National Forest, Superior National Forest, Voyageurs National Park and the USNPS The Everglades National Park.
