Soltreks is a consistent recipient of the the Woodbury Reports, Inc. “Excellence in Education Award .”  Recipients  are selected on the basis of their excellent reputation for producing positive and consistent results with at-risk children and their families. Each year a network of Independent Educational Consultants who specialize in referrals for adolescents with special needs is surveyed for their recommendations.

The National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs (NATSAP)

Lorri Hanna serves on the Ethics Committee of The National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs (NATSAP). The National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs (NATSAP) was created in 1999 to serve as a national resource for programs and professionals assisting young people with emotional or behavioral difficulties. The National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs serves as an advocate and resource for innovative organizations which devote themselves to society’s need for the effective care and education of struggling young people and their families.

 

Organizational Memberships

The National Association of Therapeutic Wilderness Camps

Soltreks is an organization member of The National Association of Therapeutic Wilderness Camps (NATWC). The primary purpose of NATWC is to support the establishment and continuation of therapeutic wilderness camping organizations; with the attendant responsibility to educate the public as to the existence of such organizations and their success in helping troubled young people change their lives for the better.

Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare Industry Council

Soltreks is an organization member of the Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare Industry Council (OBHIC), an association of high quality wilderness treatment programs.

Association for Experiential Education

Soltreks is an organization member of the Association for Experiential Education (AEE). AEE is a nonprofit, member-based professional organization dedicated to experiential education-- a philosophy and methodology in which educators purposefully engage with learners in direct experience and focused reflection in order to increase knowledge, develop skills, and clarify values.
 

Partnership

Soltreks provides students with the opportunity to earn high school credits. This academic component is an important piece that allows students to continue working on their high school diploma while at Soltreks.

Soltreks is partnered with Blueprint Education, a leading national education provider accredited by North Central Association - Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA-CASI) and its umbrella organization, the Commission on International and Trans-regional Accreditation (CITA). The curriculum for grades 9 - 12 is also approved by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) for admission to all NCAA programs throughout colleges and universities.
