YOUNG ADULTS

a leadership and personal growth experience 

The Young Adult program provides a focused learning opportunity to support young people facing transitions into college, community and adulthood with greater meaning and purpose. Students practice boundary setting, intentional dialogue, supportive feedback, while developing life skills and leadership.  Lessons foster self-reliance, trust and intentionality as students identify their strengths and healthy strategies for coping with life’s challenges. Flexible trek length with an average length of stay of 21 days to 6 weeks
STUDENT PROFILE:
Young Adults age: 18-over
Withdrawn from academic institution
  • In need of a Gap Semester

  • Small groups 1:3 staff to student ratio (up to 6 students/group)
  • Flexible enrollment and length of stay
  • Sailing,  SEA KAYAKING expedition, wilderness canoeing, and BACKcountry camping

  • Assessment with recommendations for transition structure

  • Program areas
  • Northern Minnesota: Superior National Forest,  Boundary Waters Canoe Wilderness Area and Voyageurs National Park, New Mexico: Gila National Forest, Florida Ten Thousand islands, Everglades, The folrida Keys.
Admissions
Applications are reviewed in collaboration with the students’ parents and referral sources. Airport locations: Minnesota—Duluth or Minneapolis. New Mexico – Silver City, Texas El Paso, Florida, Fort Myers, Miami. Depending on program area.
